Anderson Cooper’s Talk Show Will Be Dangerous and Really Gay
July 28, 2011
Anderson Cooper comes back to his roots in NYC for his new talk show, riding his bike without a helmet and talking ‘Real Housewives’.
Anderson Cooper is one of the many hoping to break into the daytime television world post-Oprah, and he’s pulling out the glasses and the “authentic” persona to bring women in hospital rooms to his side.
In a new promo (below) for his upcoming daytime television show, Anderson Cooper explains that he’s spent the last twenty years of his life covering breaking international news stories and that now he’s coming back to New York to be a rich gay guy who wears Lacoste and talks about the ‘Real Housewives’.
As the promo would love to make you believe, Cooper is just a regular dude. He goes to a barber! He rides the subway! He’s even asinine when it comes to safety and doesn’t wear a helmet while biking through Manhattan. But unlike normal dudes, Cooper reminisces on how he got his first wrinkle as a young Vanderbilt, loves Rebecca Black, and will hopefully have Kathy Griffin as his first guest. Cooper even has a soft spot for the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’.
And just like any young gay teen, he even has his own YouTube channel. The channel is sparse and intimate, with most videos only receiving a couple thousand views as he sits in front of his web cam wearing beautiful spectacles, answering questions about the news (boring!), and revealing his favorite vacation spot. If only his channel were more popular, perhaps this trend could have caught on. I would love to see Barbara Walters or Ann Curry sitting in front of their laptops, talking about last night’s Jersey Shore or if they enjoy dancing.
From the looks of it, Anderson could be a new daytime hit. I mean, who really wants to watch Katie Couric next Fall?
