"The winner by a TKO at 2:11 of the 14th round is .....!"

Good Day Readers:

Yesterday we attended the fith pre-disciplinary meeting for Blackie (Round 5!) at the offices of The Law Society of Manitoba."Enemy to those who make him an enemy ..... friend to those who have no friend - that's Blackie!"The meeting was chaired by Peter Cole (no picture available) who practices in Altona, Manitoba. Also present were Ted E. Bock from Aikins Law (formerly Aikins MacAulay Thorvaldson) who it is our understanding will be on the disciplinary panel that eventually tries Blackie, that is, if a trial every gets underway.LSM Senior Legal Counsel C. Kristin Dangerfield
Le-Ann Harrison, Discipline Department Secretary (picture unavailable)A mystery lady who did not self-identifyAnd last but not least David M. ("Dapper") Skwark (FillmoreRiley) who will be prosecuting BlackieThe meeting was over almost before it started lasting 3-minutes if that. The next one was scheduled for June 2, 2011 at 9:30 a.m.

Since disciplinary proceedings are open to the public, Blackie is a real advocate for freedom of speech and expression requesting that I attend. It will be a real honour and privilege to represent the public interest of our readership. It was about this time Mr. Skwark gave me one of those, "Who the hell are you glances?" It was a classic if looks could kill I'd have instantly died on the spot! He really does need to learn some manners and respect for his Elders as I obviously have a few years on him. Counselor Skwark also seemed to forget we were at an earlier preliminary meeting at which he attended.

While language can be easily manipulated not so for body language. So much for Ms Dangerfield's arguments at last month's meeting that prosecutors somehow are impartial, non decision makers who merely present the facts! By contrast Blackie was very polite, respectful and confident - and well he should be!

One startling piece of information that came out of yesterday's session was that Blackie has filed a Charter challenge against the Law Society of Manitoba! It was served on Mr. Skwark by Blackie. David Skwark undertook to provide the LSM with a copy. This case is going to get a lot more interesting in the days, weeks and months ahead!

We are really looking forward to attending at the June 2, 2011 "set down" meeting (Round 6!) at which time we assume Mr. Skwark will seek to get agreement on a formal disciplinary hearing date for Blackie - or will there be more preliminaries? This case could well turn into, and has the makings of, a 15-Round knock him down drag him out heavyweight champion fight before it's over. We're putting our money on Blackie by a 14-Round TKO! Who do you think will win Readers?

Sincerely,
Clare L. Pieuk
