Too Little Too Late Senator
Chip Tsao, current public enemy #1
Overseas Filipinos sent back $14.4 billion in remittances to the Philippines in 2007, up from the $13 billion in 2006.
The Philippines has estimated an inflow of $15.9 billion worth of remittances in 2008.
Dear Readers,
This comment was left for me on Victorina, but I'll address it here.
Dear Mr. Gorrell,
Isn't Migz Zubiri the cousin(nephew actually) of anti-OFW Malou Fernandez?
Why is he acting like a hero all of a sudden?
Shouldn't he discipline his FAT cousin first?
"Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri on Monday said he would file a resolution calling on the Department of Foreign Affairs to file a diplomatic protest against a Hong Kong columnist who he said should apologize for a racial slur against overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)."
Senator Migs Zubiri
Dear OFW,
I think I've written about the Senator and Malu and the entire Zubiri family enough on this blog, but what the hell.... one more time won't hurt.
I'm always amazed at how quickly 'certain' politicians rally to a cause when it has only one possible side for them to rah rah sis boom bah on.
And Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri is just one of many we see this week 'jockeying' for a position around this 'plus plus win win' discussion on Chip Tsao and the appalling things he wrote as a columnist.....
There is no other option for these egocentrically driven power mongers other then to grab a bit of spotlight when it's pointed in their general direction. I can just see their out stretched necks straining for the light from here.
Everyone wants a piece of this Chip Tsao debate, because well, it's not even a debate.
It's hate hate hate directed accordingly at this ignorant Chinese writer/journalist Chip Tsao who has obviously enraged many with his off color remarks about the most precious commodity in the Philippines.
OFW's.
Migs Zubiri is one of these 'enraged' politicians.
Miguel flip flops more than a gasping trout in a canoe.
And let's face it, this is a GREAT opportunity to help make 'go away' the sins of his Aunt Malu who is one of the biggest embarrassments to the Philippines and it's OFW population.
And remember folks, Malu could not have cared one iota about the outrage her article caused last year and her tepid indignant response was equally hostile and completely indifferent to the lives and concerns and the reality of OFW's and the trials and tribulations they incur while doing what is required of them. I did NOT hear the Senator then....so I am shocked to hear him now being so very vocal on the dramz.
remember this little gem from Malu-
By Malu Fernandez
The offensive article by Malu Fernandez
As all of you know I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in the Mediterranean. To cut on some costs for this impromptu vacation I was forced to fly economy class which I absolutely do not wish on my worst enemy. I was, however, encouraged by my travel agent to try out Emirates since it won the best economy class, so with great trepidation I flew on Emirates via Dubai, completely forgetting that Dubai is the hub for all the Filipino migrant workers. Call me whatever you like but when you are trapped in economy class that is filled to the brim with migrant workers the smell gets a little funky after nine hours of flying.
*************
OFW's are the nations backbone Migs.
Honorable if you ask me.
Dignity personified.
Doing their bit for the country.
And Malu made fun of them and she pretty much got away with it.
In fact, it made her MORE powerful actually.
Your aunties wings were NOT clipped with such a response from yourself even at the height of the matter.
Filipinos will never forget what Malu wrote.
But her nephew Migs would love to forget and this is his big chance to make it right.
On Malu's behalf perhaps?
Let's look at his OUTRAGE closely and wonder together whether or not this is too little too late for dear handsome Migs.
Was it not in fact Malu Fernandez who not long ago 'smeared' the ENTIRE OFW community with her tirade against 'them'? I think we can all agree that what Malu wrote was VERY painful for some to read.
I personally thought that Malu should have been denied food for three months as punishment.
Malu would get smaller, and 350 people would eat that otherwise would not have.
And of course we all know that Malu is the much loved sister of Vicky Zubiri who herself has so many 'issue'....(this family is a real mess it turns out).
A opportunistic hot rich mess.
The amount of ex deals this family had accumulated over the years is mind blowing.
Vicky's entire existence revolves around what is given to her for simply being a Zubiri.
She hit the jackpot for sure when Miggsy got elected!
Shame about her wonky eyes though.
I do NOT understand why these socialites will not fix their eyes!
...But of course many people love Vicky because she gave us the very handsome Miguel who never seems to disappoint with his charming voice and his dashing good looks. He really is a good looking fella. And he knows it too!
Style but no substance is the usual catch cry when it comes to his overall performance as a Senator.
Migs, before you rally around this particular instance of OFW slander, you should perhaps firstly address the comments your VERY own aunt Malu made with regards to OFW's because until now, you've failed to comment on them OR rebuke her.
Some may think this is an old issue, but we see now how these issues can just 'pop' up again and again and again.
My mother said to me once, "Son you can never escape the heartache you cause others.... without making proper amends first".
My mother is never wrong.
Mummy also says that the 'fruit' never falls far from the tree dear Migs.
Bday Eve.
I look really horendous in this video... Proceed with Cautions.. Its the process of my surprise party... Haha..if you don't mind me looking ugly and sounding like donald duck, then go ahead and enjoy it.
The Abominable VICKY ZUBIRI
Wonky Eye's #2 The Abominable VICKY ZUBIRI
Vicky Zubiri works her staff to the bone 24/7!
Dear Readers,
Oh this is sweeter than my daily buko juice on Boracay.
One of my all time favorite 'wilted' socialites on the Manila HIGH Society 'scene' is up to her OLD tricks again......no NOT Miss. Maurice Arache (although I hear dear old Momo is nearly finished with his Eva Peron-esque embalming procedures at Belo's salon/butcher which should keep him around for another 100 years)
As the mother of her perennially 'clever' and handsome off-spring Miguel Zubiri (... Migs will help us...) and the LOLA to her dear beloved grand kiddies...... Vicky never fails to create a scene with her outrageous champagne induced antics and her breathtaking attempts to remain relevant when the youth and vigour from the others around her have already left her for dead.
I though Vicky was DYING?
Cancer?
HELLO????
Vicky, you are still alive dear?
What's up with that Bubbles?
Vicky.... you told people you were DYING.....
It's a miracle!
The tragic Vicky Zubiri has been caught doing what rich people do....
Treating her staff abominably!
Vicky was seen (by Grace Lee no less!) at The Establishment with her Yaya.
Grace Lee eyed Vicky from HEAD TO TOE because apparently..... Vicki Zubiri's maid was kneeling down and cleaning her shoes at 1 AM!!
HELLO!!!!
Dear Vicky,
Are you sooo useless, you can't even wipe down your own shoes while visiting a nightclub?
Vicky, do you even know how absolutely ridiculous it is to have your maid... IN A NIGHTCLUB, on hand to wash your shoes?
You are one spoiled rotten crazy old lady.....

US VP Daughter Filmed Snorting Cocaine
Vice President daughter Ashley Biden now in hiding after being filmed snorting cocaine
The New York Post and Radar online reported that lawyers representing the seller, who said he was a "friend", claimed that the footage was alleged to be of Ashley Biden, 27, a social worker, at a party and initially wanted some $2 million for the tape. They described the seller as a "friend" of Miss Biden.
Mr Biden coined the term "drugs czar" and has been an outspoken supporter of the "war on drugs" waged by the United States. Miss Biden is his youngest child. He has two sons from his first marriage. His first wife and their 18-month-old daughter Naomi were killed in a car crash in 1972.
On the tape a man cuts up five lines of what is said to be cocaine," Radar online reported." The woman who the seller says is Ashley then jokes with the man that the lines aren't big enough.
"The man hands her a rolled-up dollar bill and she proceeds to walk a few steps to a table where the cocaine is cut. She pulls her hair back, bends down and snorts a line."
There was no immediate response to the allegations from Mr Biden, his daughter or the White House.
The woman on the tape swore. The party was said to have taken place in Wilmington, Delaware and the lawyer said that Miss Biden's boyfriend was there and clearly identifiable on the tape.
Miss Biden was arrested in 2002 for shouting at a Chicago policeman who was trying to arrest a disorderly friend outside a nightclub. She was also arrested in 1999 for marijuana possession while she was a university student in New Orleans. In both cases, charges were later dropped.

OSW Offended and Hurt by Shocking Slur
Filipina domestic workers in Honk Kong
Slur vs Hong Kong Pinays sparks outrage
By Delon Porcalla
Updated March 29, 2009 12:00 AM
MANILA, Philippines - A congresswoman yesterday called on a Hong Kong magazine to apologize to the Philippine government for offensive and defamatory comments on Filipinos in an article on the country’s claim over the Spratly islands which China also claims.
Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros voiced strong protest over the article of Chinese writer Chip Tsao published in the HK Magazine of the Asia City Publishing Group, where he called the Philippines a “nation of servants.”
In his article, Tsao protested the Philippine claim over the Spratlys, urging his compatriots not to bow to the Philippines because there are “more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as $3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong.”
“As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter,” Tsao said in his article.
He also mentioned that he employs a Filipina domestic helper named Louisa and warned her that should a war erupt, “I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day.”
“With that money, she would pay taxes to her government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings,” Tsao added.
“I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell every one of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China,” Tsao wrote.
The Chinese writer likewise said the Philippines should stop threatening China.
“The Philippines may have a Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes in the Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout ‘China, Madam/Sir’ loudly whenever they hear the word ‘Spratly.’ They say the indoctrination is working as wonderfully as when we used to shout ‘Long Live Chairman Mao,’ at the sight of portrait (sic) of our Great leader during the Cultural Revolution,” Tsang said in his article.
Hontiveros took strong offense at this and said the magazine should apologize immediately.
“This disgusting, derogatory, and vile remark can only come from dim-witted and mediocre writing. The magazine should apologize straightaway. The article reflects the kind of attitude that promotes abuses against Filipina workers,” Hontiveros said.
She said Tsao’s story should not have been published, owing to its defamatory nature characterized by racial discrimination against Filipinos in general, and domestic helpers in particular.
“Chip Tsao should find another profession. He should leave the Spratlys issue to the diplomats and writing to real writers because clearly he has neither competence nor talent in foreign affairs and in writing,” Hontiveros added.
“When you make fun of a particular group, you expose them to abuses. Wittingly or unwittingly, you end up supporting acts of intolerance and abuses,” she added.
“Filipina domestic workers should hold a one-day strike to tell the likes of Chip Tsao who’s the real master of the HK economy. If all Filipino workers in HK would strike, the HK economy would grind to a halt without us having to invade the territory,” she said.
She said Filipinos are not asking for political correctness, just professional treatment.
“Domestic work is a decent job. It’s not just done by hired Filipina domestic workers, it has also been the function of mothers of all nationality, in Hong Kong and China and elsewhere. It should be treated with respect,” she said, adding that by insulting Filipina domestic workers Tsao has also insulted his own mother.

Domestic workers gather on Sunday to swap stories and catch up with friends
Bry Shane thinks all Filipino OSW (all domestic workers) are amazing and keep the country afloat! Racism SUCKS!
thanks anyway!
oh ..he's a victorian gentleman you say? I guess he flunked sino-english history or has encountered selective amnesia - the opium war and how HK became the possession of the british circa 1800s - his ancestors scoffing the idea of being under the british rule which he emulates so proudly now.
In afterthought, I really pity the guy now.... Read More
My hats off to that filipina DH under his employ, she ought to teach her master history 101 (for the lack therof)
